ZTV / ZVI analysis
Zones of Theoretical Visibility... primary analysis using OS height data to predict
visibility of proposed turbines as well as existing for cumulative assessment of wind
farms.
Wireframes
Draft and final stage wireframes give a count of turbines and demonstrate
their relative scale within the landform. Cylindrical perspective allows for these to be
correctly scaled and aligned within photographs
Photography and photomontages
Photomontages are usually requested to communicate wind farm design
proposals. The process can be complex, requiring expertise in photography, 3D modelling,
terrain and photo-editing, as well as understanding the scaling and camera-matching
perspective in photographs that make the final images stand up to scrutiny
Animated photomontage and VR fly-through
Photomontages that are animated are a good way to
demonstrate the effects of turbine movement, whereas a static image can understate how
eye-catching turbines can be. Alternatively we can create fly-throughs which can be
downloaded for viewing from multiple locations. The terrain can be draped with aerial
photography for added realism, mapping or a simple wireframe.
